Practicum Speaker

Join Heather Lloyd at our pre-conference practicum Dealing with Learning Challenges within the Classroom.

In every classical classroom, teachers encounter students with a range of abilities, challenges, and learning needs. Classical Christian education, with its rigorous and intentional approach, must also be adaptable, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to engage, grow, and succeed within the curriculum. This practicum provides teachers with practical tools for recognizing, supporting, and discipling struggling students—whether it’s a mild reading disability or comprehension issue, to a more complex issue like autism—while maintaining academic integrity and a Christ-centered learning environment.

Led by Heather Lloyd, who works with over 30 Classical Christian schools—each committed to educating students of all learning abilities and diagnoses—this session equips teachers to:

  • navigate the complexities of learning struggles without compromising the high standards of a classical education
  • identify academic, behavioral, cultural, and emotional challenges
  • partner effectively with parents
  • disciple students in both academic and behavioral growth
  • foster a classroom culture that upholds excellence while providing individualized support

Whether you’re a seasoned classical educator or new to the classroom, this session will provide you with the wisdom, tools, and confidence to serve every student well.
