
Clifford Humphrey earned an MA and Ph.D. in Politics from Hillsdale College, where his dissertation focused on the republican federalism of John Taylor of Caroline. Currently serving as the Chief of Staff and Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at the University of West Florida, he served as the Executive Vice Chancellor of the Florida College System from 2023 to 2025 and an Adjunct Professor at Florida State University. Humphrey has held various academic roles, including Director of Admissions and Assistant Professor at Thales College and Executive Director at Troy University’s Institute for Leadership Development. His teaching experience spans courses on leadership, American history, and the U.S. Constitution. Humphrey has published articles in outlets such as The Atlanta Journal Constitution, The Washington Examiner, American Greatness, American Reformer, First Things, and Law & Liberty exploring themes of citizenship, liberty, and American political thought. He has presented at numerous academic conferences, including the American Political Science Association and Southern Political Science Association, and has received prestigious fellowships from institutions like the Claremont Institute and the Institute for Humane Studies. Humphrey holds a B.S. in Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University and pursued post-baccalaureate studies in Greek and Latin at Columbia University.
