Every Teacher is a Philosopher and a Theologian
A Philosophy and Theology Primer for Every Classical Christian Teacher
Whether a teacher’s lesson is on Phonemes with Kindergartners, Physics with Seniors, or Physical Education with 8th Graders, a little bit of philosophy and theology can go a long way. Although Theology is the ‘Queen of the Sciences’ and Philosophy is its ‘Handmaiden,’ these two disciplines usually are confined to Upper School while the Lower School teachers are required to settle for what is immediately practical and actionable. For schools serious about Christian paideia, teachers need a body of content and set of instincts to impart to their students, because biblical truth is both caught and taught. This simple and actionable talk will teach a liturgy for Classical Christian teachers and administrators to bring to their schools. Increasing the philosophical and biblical knowledge of your faculty is an exponent on the curriculum, instructional, and assessment practices.
