Redeemer Christian School, a private, classical and Christian school in Mesa, Arizona, (accredited by Christian Schools International) seeks a

FULL-TIME ACADEMIC SUPPORT TEACHER

Redeemer Christian School serves Christian families in a Christ-centered environment to equip students for a life of learning and service to honor God. We serve Christian parents who raise their children in Christ-centered instruction, and foster this partnership for their child’s academic success.

DUTIES:

-The academic support teacher would support our classroom teachers in helping struggling students in reading, mathematics, and writing, using a modified classical curriculum.
-The teacher would employ accommodations for students in their care, and provide specific interventions to promote academic success and serve with a team in partnership with the classroom teacher.
-This position entails following our current curriculum, providing classical Christian teaching, grading, using hands on learning, creating lesson plans, and using classical teaching tools.
-Main subject areas of need: HS reading comprehension (literature and science), HS mathematics, secondary grammar and writing; elementary phonics and reading, and mathematics.
Small class sizes: 1 to 5 teacher to student ratio.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified applicants have, at minimum,

-a bachelor’s degree in SPED or related area, a Christian testimony, upstanding character, a love of children, and a love to teach and to inspire students.
-Strong Christian worldview,
-Experience and training in supporting struggling elementary and high school students.
-Familiarity with classical Christian curriculum and methods, being teachable, and willingness to grow as a classical Christian educator.
-Strong collaborative skills with school team.   Valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card required.

START DATE:

Fall 2024. Salary commensurate upon education and experience.
