Position Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of all physical aspects of the campus, promoting a safe and conducive learning environment for both students and staff, and working with the Chaplain to develop a team of student volunteers who seek to serve their campus through physical labor.

Duties and Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Dean of Facilities are as follows:

·       Willingness to demonstrate servant leadership by jumping into problems as they arise with a joyful disposition.

·       Approach the operation of our facilities as an opportunity for discipleship.

·       Develop avenues for the student, faculty, and parents of our community to serve their school through physical labor.

·       Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify and address maintenance needs promptly.

·       Coordinate and oversee routine maintenance, repairs, and renovations as necessary.

·       Oversee the efficient use of classroom and office spaces, coordinating with the Dean of Operations for any rearrangements or special setups as required.

·       Maintain an inventory of all equipment, furniture, and fixtures on the property.

·       Coordinate repairs, replacements, or acquisitions as needed.

·       As a standing member of the Crisis Management Team, assist in the development and implementation of our emergency response plans, coordinating drills, and ensuring the availability of necessary resources for crisis situations. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.

·       Collaborate with the Headmaster and Dean of Operations in the development and management of the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions while meeting operational needs.

·       Liaise with external vendors and contractors for facility-related services, ensuring timely completion of projects within budgetary constraints.

·       Ensures that the facility is clean throughout the school day by overseeing an outsourced janitorial service.

Qualifications

·       Proven experience in facilities management, preferably in an educational setting.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

·       Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.

·       Familiarity with budget management and cost-control principles.

Compensation, Benefits and Hiring

Pay is competitive ($60,000 – $70,000)  and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits offered for full-time employees include health benefits, paid vacation days, paid holidays, 403(b) retirement plan with employer contribution, and tuition remission according to our HR policies. All employees will be required to pass background checks and Ministry Safe certification.
