ABOUT THE POSITION:
The successful candidate is a proven leader with a commitment to classical Christian education. He or she embraces Augustine Classical Academy’s mission to partner with families and provide an education that equips students to know, love, and practice what is true, virtuous, and beautiful. This individual will be an exceptional manager, motivating leader, and strong relationship-builder with demonstrated success in a similarly situated school or organization. This position reports directly to the Board of Directors.

● Experience in classical Christian school administration desirable, but not required.
● Demonstrated senior management experience.
● Organizational leadership experience with a proven record of success in leading cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious results.
● Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with an ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities effectively.
● Exceptional communication skills with an ability to motivate staff, parents, community leaders, and other school stakeholders.
● Experience forming, cultivating, and expanding partnerships with key constituents in the public and private sectors, such as foundations, other educational organizations, and individuals.
● Strong financial acumen including a background in budgeting, audit processes, and financial reporting.
● A proven track record of fundraising from charitable foundations, businesses, individuals, and public/private sector institutions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND SCHOOL MANAGEMENT
● Provide leadership to a planning process designed and intended to assure the school’s readiness and ability to provide a sound, relevant, and Christian educational experience for students.
● Spearhead accreditation efforts, to include the Association of Classical Christian Schools and pursuit of others, as deemed beneficial.
● Overall operation of programs, human resources, and facilities.
● Collaborate with the executive director to develop and apply strategies to continuously improve administrative, faculty and staff professional development, salaries, and benefits.
● Remain abreast of educational trends and challenges, particularly those facing classical Christian education.
● Support and supervise the executive director, and by extension indirectly all instructional and operations staff.
● Serve as the staff’s primary liaison to the Board of Directors bringing updates, concerns, recommendations, resource requirements, and major issues to the board’s attention in a timely manner, while serving as an ex officio member of the Board.
● Reinforce the Board’s governance and fiduciary responsibilities by participating in monthly board meetings; preparing monthly administrative reports; and developing recommendations for board consideration that combine the best interests of students and the needs of ACA with the focus and direction of the Board.
● Adhere to all personnel policies, procedures and guidelines as set forth in the faculty handbook.
● Administer/oversee Human Resource policies and procedures and personnel management.
● Technology Strategy (including planning, support, and asset management.
● Facilities Strategy including mid- to long-range facility needs, in addition to overseeing custodial, maintenance, and other facilities operations.
● Oversee vendor management, providing support to the executive director and Office Manager.
● Collaborate with the executive director and other administrators to execute the leadership model set forth by the Board of Directors.
● Establish objectives and procedures to ensure operational efficiency.
● Protect the school, employees, and board by ensuring all prudent insurance policies are in place at sufficient levels.
● Develop and follow safety and risk-management best practices (including volunteer risk management, cybersecurity, and all other building safety risks).
● Ensure staff collaboration and cooperation with facilities management and other facility users as it relates to the physical use and maintenance of the buildings and grounds.
● Develop, maintain, and update (as required) a School Safety & Emergency Response Plan.
● Ensure compliance with accrediting and school membership agencies.
● Prepare and submit annual budget to the Board.
● Collaboratively prepare monthly financial reports to the Board.
● Facilitate, prepare for, and attend financial audits/reviews and implement corrections to any findings.
● Provide strategic financial planning analysis in order to support future growth and development.
● Maintain market awareness related to tuition and fees and make recommendations to the Board accordingly.
● Provide high-level strategic financial analysis to the Board in order to inform strategic decision-making, and on an ad hoc basis as requested by the Board.
● Spearhead community outreach and routine fundraising activities.
● Provide regular communications with families and other stakeholders.
● Attend ACA and broader community events (as appropriate).
● Nurture positive relationships with all community leaders including donors, elected officials, business owners, area pastors, and leaders of other non-profit organizations.
● Oversee the organization’s website, electronic communications, and social media properties to present and protect the school’s brand, promoting fundraising as well as enrollment.
● Develop and oversee implementation of such marketing and communications plans as may be necessary to continue attracting a diverse and sufficient student population to the school and supporting all necessary development efforts.
● Review and approve Parent Council fundraising efforts.
