Mathematics and Science Teacher (7th-12th)

Position Description

TITLE:  Logic/Rhetoric School Faculty (Science and Mathematics)

Qualifications

Must possess a fervent Christian faith, which is demonstrated by a clear, personal relationship with Christ, by faithful participation in the life of a local church, and by character that is above reproach;
Must unreservedly agree with and promote the beliefs, mission, and vision of TRCA;
Must also possess a robust Christian worldview;
Must exemplify personal dedication to lifelong learning;
Must demonstrate a love of students and a passion to help others develop academically and spiritually;
Must have—or be willing to quickly obtain—a thorough understanding and commitment to the classical model of education;
Must have robust experience and training as a professional educator, a home educator, or preferably both; and
A master’s degree or a bachelor’s degree plus equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Teaching

Instruct Mathematics/Science courses 3 days per week (course examples include Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Physical Science, Biology, and Chemistry)
Conduct classes using a robust discussion-based teaching pedagogy
Integrate theology naturally into discussions, assessments, and class deportment
Commit to a robust classical reading regimen while teaching

Family/Co-Teacher Mentoring

Build strong relationships with parents and students

Student Culture and Discipline

Know students by name and prioritize interaction with students throughout the day
Pray regularly for students
