Position Description

THE POSITION

Westminster Academy, in Memphis, TN, a classical Christian school of 455 students, seeks a qualified full-time Upper School Science teacher, beginning fall of 2026, to teach 8th grade Life Science and 10th grade Human Anatomy and Physiology. Westminster Academy is committed to teaching all truth as God’s truth through the lens of Scripture and a Christian worldview. The Upper School Science teacher will be expected to help with organizing student participation in Science Olympiad, an extracurricular activity that meets 1-2 times per week.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate for the Upper School Science Teacher position will have 3-5 years of teaching experience at a classical Christian school and:

• Possess a love of students and a passion for mentoring and discipleship.
• Hold at least a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Display a great passion for science and natural philosophy and should be able to cultivate a love for those studies within students.
• Implement the hallmarks of a classical education—Socratic teaching, the integration of subjects, and the integration of Christian faith to show how these disciplines reveal the nature and character of God.
• Be eager to teach classically, build a biblical worldview for students, and collaborate with other faculty members to foster integration with history, mathematics, art, and theology classes.
