Position Description

Pinnacle Classical Academy is a K4-12th grade classical Christian school, which utilizes a hybrid university model (4 teaching days per week). As we look forward to the 2025-26 school year and desire to accommodate our growth, we are seeking a full-time lower school teacher. Our staff is passionate about our students and committed to building a culture where students love to learn, as well as strive for excellence. Performance Areas

Curriculum and Instruction: Will be devoted and passionate about teaching, seeking every possible opportunity to teach our students. The Teacher will

  • Model a love of learning, especially a love of reading great books.
  • Teach classically, using pedagogy consistent with the Trivium and The Seven Laws of Teaching.
  • Integrate subjects and instruct from a biblical worldview.
  • Work as a form of worship, with high expectations of student conduct and preparation.
  • Shepherd students’ hearts and building relationships.
  • Live out the gospel to students and parents.
  • Develop student leadership through discipleship opportunities in the classroom.
  • Develop a school culture that loves beauty, truth, and goodness as expressed in the liberal arts.
  • Improve the existing curriculum to reflect the continuous improvement and growth of our students and school.

Professional: Provides an orderly teaching environment that reflects God’s grace and goodness as well as firm boundaries and loving accountability. The Teacher will

  • Fully support all policies, procedures, and guidelines in governing the operation of the school.
  • Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, staff to promote a positive learning environment.
  • Steward classroom materials and equipment effectively.
  • Seek help and advice from colleagues and supporting administration.
  • Take advantage of training opportunities and seek out information for professional development, continue to improve in content knowledge and the art of teaching well.
  • Provide input and recommendations for administrative and managerial functions in the school.
  • Respond in a timely and appropriate manner to all communication (24-hour response is expected on emails and GroupMe texts during the school week).
  • Attend and participate in scheduled faculty and committee meetings and other school sponsored events.
  • Demonstrate good stewardship of time, including the time of others, by being present at school for the contracted hours, being punctual for duties and starting and ending classes on time.
  • Project a positive professional and respectful attitude toward others, including students, parents, the school board, the administration, faculty, and staff.
  • Exercise proper discretion in matters such as confidential information and personal opinions or concerns about school operations, students or staff, including adherence to biblical principles of communication.
  • Keep a personal appearance that is a role model of cleanliness, modesty, and good taste.
