Position Description

Spiritual Requirements:

Coram Deo Academy hires individuals that profess the historic Christian faith. The Nicene Creed describes the minimum understanding of and subscription to Christian belief required of employees of the Academy. Every employee must also profess to be a Christian believer and subscribe to this statement. As evidence of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in their lives, Coram Deo Academy expects all employees to be actively involved in a local church here their faith in practice is consistent with the Academy’s mission and statement of faith.

 

Core Responsibilities:

Assist the Athletic Director in the administrative duties of the Athletic Department which includes but is not limited to the following:

  •  Confirming scheduled games with opponents, officials and facilities
  •  Staying current with all TAPPS, NFHS, and other governing body rules and regulations
  •  Attending Coram Deo Athletics Staff meetings and school wide meetings
  •  Responsible for scheduling and organizing parent meetings and end-of-season banquets
  •  Representing the school and athletic district at times for TAPPS meetings
  •  Maintaining existing relationships with current athletic facility partners and exploring new options
  •  Assist Athletic Director with annual fundraising events
  •  General office work & athletic facility maintenance
  •  Serving as the administrator on duty for athletic events on campus
  •  Any other assignment as needed in the athletic department
  •  Direct and lead a sports program for all ages involved including organizing teams and identifying coaches for the team to be interviewed and approved by the Athletic Director
  •  Communicate regularly to parents concerning the schedule and expectations of the teams
  •  Assist the Campus Administration in whatever role is needed throughout the school day
  •  Develop respectful and cordial relationships with other TAPPS district coaches and be willing to lead when needed and appropriate within the TAPPS district.

Coaching Duties:

  • Assists the Athletic Department in carrying out assigned responsibilities.
  • To provide sports activity supervision, training and coaching to student athletes as assigned by the Athletic Department
  • Assists in implementing athletic objectives
  • Assumes responsibility for constant care of equipment and facilities.
  • Assumes supervisory control over athletes and teams assigned and over all athletes when such control is needed.
  • Be in regular attendance at all contests and practice sessions.
  • Applies discipline in a Biblical manner.
  • Emphasizes safety precautions; is aware of best training procedures and injury preventative actions.
  • Conducts self and teams in a manner that is Christ-honoring during contests and practice.
  • Instructs players in rules of the game, rule changes, new developments, and innovative ideas.

 

 

Essential Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE:

  • First-hand knowledge of Christian, classical, and collaborative educational model preferred.

 

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Works in a fast-paced environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
  • May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
  • Be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials weighing 20 to 50 pounds.
