Position Description

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily athletics operations, including scheduling games, practices, and events, ensuring seamless logistics (e.g., facility setup, referee coordination).
  • Support coaches by providing resources, communicating expectations, and offering informal feedback, escalating formal evaluations to the Upper School Dean.
  • Enforce program policies on student discipline, coach conduct, and parent responsibilities, maintaining a Christ-centered environment.
  • Communicate schedules, updates, and inquiries to parents, students, and coaches via approved channels (e.g., newsletters, text app).
  • Manage equipment and uniform needs, submitting budget requests to the Upper School Dean for approval.
  • Maintain accurate records of team schedules, rosters, and results.
  • Participate in the Athletic Committee to support program planning, executing established policies.
  • Foster a culture of faith, teamwork, and sportsmanship among student-athletes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience in athletics coordination, coaching, or program management, ideally in a school setting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to manage logistics and stakeholder relationships.
  • Commitment to SCA’s Christ-centered mission and integration of biblical principles in athletics.
  • Ability to execute policies effectively under the direction of the Upper School Dean.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of classical Christian education and its application to athletics programs.
  • Experience supporting coaches through resource provision or professional development.
  • Familiarity with managing game-day operations (e.g., equipment, facilities, referees).
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools for schedules and updates (e.g., newsletters, apps).
