Position Description
Job Summary
The Legacy Academy Head of School will lead as a gentle and humble servant of Christ under the direction and guidance of the Board of Legacy Academy, casting vision and embodying the school’s values with courage and conviction. He builds strong relationships with staff, students, and families, fostering a culture of wonder, charity, and lifelong learning. He models perseverance, diligence, repentance, and personal virtue, demonstrating the love of the Triune God in all interactions. He ensures administrative excellence by maintaining sound finances, organized records, effective communication, and operational integrity.
Responsibilities
Lead with biblical conviction and Christlike character:
Model a distinctly Christian worldview grounded in Scripture; demonstrate humility, repentance, perseverance, and virtue in all areas of leadership.
Cultivate spiritual formation:
Encourage spiritual growth among students, staff, and families; foster practices that promote love for Christ, worship, and discipleship.
Promote intellectual and moral excellence:
Support faculty in creating an atmosphere that inspires wonder, love of learning, and classical formation; uphold biblical morality and personal virtue.
Demonstrate relational leadership:
Build strong partnerships with parents, staff, and students; communicate clearly; resolve conflict with charity; and maintain a joyful, grace-filled school culture.
Lead operationally with wisdom and competence:
Ensure the school’s finances, files, and administrative systems are organized, accurate, and timely; manage budgets responsibly; maintain consistent communication with all stakeholders.
Champion Legacy’s mission and philosophy:
Uphold and articulate the school’s mission, values, and Statement of Faith; support classical pedagogy; encourage lifelong learning for faculty and staff.
Qualifications
Professing Christian aligned with Legacy Academy’s Statement of Faith
Classroom or school leadership experience
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)
Excellent Time management and personal punctuality
A level of charisma and comfort when speaking to individuals and large groups
Experience and strong competence in observing, evaluating, and training teachers
Experience and ability in evaluating curriculum
Strong ability to discern priorities, problem solve and create a proper order of steps
Implement priorities with good follow-up and follow-through
An evident passion for the ministry of Classical Christian Education
Must know intimately, update often with board, and faithfully fulfill the Legacy guiding documents
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree
Classroom and School Leadership Experience•2 – 5 years
Alignment with Legacy Academy’s Statement of Faith
Nice to Have
Advanced or Postgraduate Degree
Experience in Classical Christian Education•2 – 5 years
