Dean of Students

Position Description

A Dean of Students is ready to fulfill the Mission of Chicago Christian Academy in the following ways:

• Disciple children and cultivate habits of godliness
• Teach all that God has commanded in matters of conduct, virtue, and reconciliation
• Train students in discernment, repentance, and restoration
• Form a Christ-centered school culture marked by joy, humility, and order
• Guard the classical Christian distinctives of the academy
• Foster habits of courtesy, respect, diligence, and self-government
• Shepherd families through student concerns and discipline
• Uphold and embody the mission, vision, and theological commitments of the school
• Support teachers in classroom management, student formation, and academic flourishing
• Conduct necessary assessments of student academic progress
• Develop necessary student accommodation plans to help every student flourish academically
• Support teachers through academic and behavioral support for students
• Regular communication with teachers regarding academic needs of students
• Model a life that inspires students to love Christ and pursue virtue
• Promote unity between home and school through effective and timely communication  with students, parents, faculty, and leadership
• Provide timely feedback and documentation related to discipline and student culture
