Kindergarten Teacher
Part-Time/Half Day | On-Campus | Coram Deo School | Huntsville, AL

Position Overview:
Coram Deo School in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking a joyful and mission-minded Kindergarten teacher to help lay the foundation for a new classical Christian school rooted in the lordship of Christ and the riches of the Christian intellectual tradition. As a founding member of our faculty, the ideal candidate will embrace the unique opportunity to help shape the culture, rhythms, and early educational framework of our school in its formative years.

Coram Deo School is a startup classical Christian school dedicated to cultivating wisdom, virtue, and a lifelong love of learning in the hearts of students—before the face of God. Our school exists to glorify God by partnering with families in the discipleship of their children, offering a rich education grounded in Scripture, guided by the classical tradition, and aimed at producing faithful Christian citizens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a joyful, structured, and nurturing Kindergarten classroom rooted in Christian love and classical methods
  • Introduce young learners to reading, writing, arithmetic, and wonder through songs, stories, catechesis, and hands-on learning
  • Integrate a Biblical worldview into all subjects and daily routines
    Encourage habits of attention, obedience, reverence, and delight
  • Build strong relationships with students and parents, encouraging partnership in the child’s formation
  • Help shape the early culture, curriculum, and traditions of the school as a collaborative team member
  • Participate in regular faculty fellowship, prayer, and professional development in classical Christian pedagogy

Qualifications:

  • A vibrant, maturing faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; agreement with the school’s statement of faith and founding principles
  • A love for children and a joyful disposition
  • A calling to Christian education, with a heart to build something enduring from the ground up
  • Eagerness to learn and apply classical educational principles
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work flexibly in a startup environment
  • Membership in a local church and evidence of a life shaped by Christian service

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with classical Christian education, including the Trivium, Charlotte Mason, or the works of Christian educators
  • Experience with phonics-based reading instruction and early math development
  • Bachelor’s degree (education or early childhood focus preferred); teaching experience highly valued
