Position Description

The mission of Cornerstone Christian Academy (CCA) is to provide an excellent classical and college preparatory education that teaches students how to think, learn and live consistently with Biblical principles acknowledging God as the foundation of all knowledge and truth. CCA is an independent, covenantal school currently serving approximately 180 students in junior kindergarten through twelfth grade. Located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Abingdon, Virginia near both Tennessee and North Carolina, we are a destination for hiking and biking on the Virginia Creeper Trail!
CCA is a member of the Association of Classical Christian Schools and accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International.  We have a dedicated faculty and staff as well as a supportive board of trustees.
This year marks Cornerstone’s fifteenth anniversary. Our theme verse for this year is 1 Corinthians 3:11: “For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” We are thankful that Cornerstone’s foundation is sure. Here, we teach students that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, that the true, the good and the beautiful reflect His glory, and that a life lived purposely for Christ is both our reasonable service and greatest joy.
We are seeking a Head of School to lead us into the next chapter! The next Head of School will be a strong Christian leader, able to cultivate relationships with parents, faculty, staff and donors as well as have a dedication to the classical model. The anticipated start date is July of 2026.
