8-12 Math Instructor

Position Description

We are seeking a faithful, knowledgeable, and engaging Math Teacher for grades 8–12 who is committed to classical Christian education and the mission of cultivating wisdom, virtue, and a love of truth in students. The ideal candidate will teach mathematics with clarity and excellence while integrating a distinctly Christian worldview grounded in Scripture and classical pedagogy.

Primary Responsibilities:
Teach middle and high school mathematics courses (such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra II, Geometry, Pre-Calc, Calc, etc. ) using a classical, mastery-based approach.
Integrate biblical truth and Christian worldview into instruction, helping students see mathematics as an ordered, logical reflection of God’s creation.
Prepare lesson plans that emphasize clear explanation, guided practice, and thoughtful assessment.
Assess student learning through tests, quizzes, homework, and projects, providing timely and constructive feedback.
Maintain an orderly, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that fosters diligence, humility, and perseverance.
Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum alignment and school-wide academic goals.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and expectations.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required.
Uphold and model the school’s statement of faith, philosophy of education, and code of conduct.

Qualifications:
A personal, active faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to Christian discipleship.
Agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith and commitment to classical Christian education.
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
Teaching experience at the Logic and/or Rhetoric school level preferred.
Familiarity with classical pedagogy and ACCS standards (or willingness to learn).
Strong classroom management skills and a heart for shepherding students.
Ability to communicate complex mathematical concepts clearly and effectively.
