5th grade teacher

Position Description

Grove City Christian Academy is currently interviewing candidates for 5th GradeTeacher.
This position would include teaching all subjects appropriate for a self-contained 5th
grade classroom (Grammar, History, Bible, Mathematics, Geography, Literature, and
Writing), except PE, music, art and Latin.

We are looking for applicants with the following qualifications:

Spiritual:
● Agreement with the Grove City Christian Academy Statement of Faith
● Clear evidence of a personal commitment to and life in the Lord Jesus Christ
● Acceptance of the requirement to be a member of a local evangelical church
● An obvious working knowledge of the Scriptures

Professional:
● A working knowledge of the purpose and philosophy behind Grove City Christian
Academy
● Bachelor’s degree preferred
● Training and previous teaching experience preferred
● Good written and oral communication abilities
● Understanding of Classical Christian pedagogy desired
● Adherence to established curriculum
● Personal and social skills that would foster good relations with children, parents, and
fellow faculty/staff

Job Description:
● Ability to maintain a neat, organized classroom environment
● Ability to uphold a well ordered and disciplined classroom
● Thorough knowledge of and interest in the subjects assigned to teach
● Ability to prepare and implement engaging and effective lesson plans
