Position Title: Full-Time Middle School Math and Life Science Teacher

Location: Broomfield, CO

Job Description: Summit Classical Academy, a growing classical Christian school, is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to fill the role of a full-time Middle School Math and Life Science Teacher. The successful candidate will be committed to the integration of faith and learning, fostering a love for wisdom and virtue in our students.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach middle school students in both Mathematics and Life Sciences, incorporating classical pedagogy and a Biblical worldview.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the school’s classical curriculum.
  • Cultivate a classroom environment that promotes intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and moral development.
  • Engage students in various forms of assessment to monitor academic progress.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience and support the school’s mission.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • Experience in teaching middle school, particularly in a classical or Christian educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of classical pedagogy or willingness to learn.
  • Commitment to faith in Jesus Christ and the integration of Biblical principles in teaching.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain teaching certification from the Association of Classical Christian Schools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with classical education methodologies in the logic stage of the trivium including familiarity with memorization techniques, Socratic discussions, and narrative teaching.
  • Ability to teach other subjects if needed (e.g., other math, science classes).
