Position Description

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Vision
Continue to develop and oversee all athletic programs, from elementary through high school.
Ensure athletics complement and support the school’s mission.
Promote a culture of sportsmanship, humility, perseverance, and Christ-like character.

Coaching & Supervision
Recruit, hire, and mentor qualified coaches who embrace the school’s mission.
Identify, equip, and support volunteer parents to serve in coaching and assistant coaching roles.
Provide training, encouragement, and accountability for both paid coaches and volunteers.
When needed, serve as coach for specific teams or activities.

Administration & Compliance
Schedule practices, games, tournaments, and events.
Oversee facilities and equipment, ensuring safety and stewardship of resources.
Manage the athletic budget responsibly.
Ensure compliance with league, conference, and state regulations.
Maintain vigilance in ensuring student eligibility as well as adherence to the athletic code of conduct.

Community & Parent Partnership

Communicate clearly with parents, students, and staff about athletic opportunities, expectations, and schedules.
Foster school spirit and community through athletic events.
Build strong relationships with parents, encouraging them to participate actively in supporting and leading athletic programs.

Qualifications
Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and wholehearted agreement with the school’s statement of faith.
Commitment to classical Christian education and the discipleship of students.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certification preferred.
Experience in athletic administration and coaching at the school or collegiate level.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Spiritual & Professional Expectations
Model Christ-like humility, discipline, and integrity both on and off the field.
Encourage students, coaches, and parents in their walk with Christ.
Maintain professional growth in athletic administration and classical Christian philosophy.
Partner with parents as the primary educators of their children.
Faithfully and regularly attend and maintain active membership in a local church whose fundamental beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith of this school.
