Development Officer
Full-Time, exempt | Boise, ID | Normal Business Hours | Salary with benefits
Organization Description:
The Association of Classical & Christian Schools (ACCS) is a U.S. nonprofit association organized to promote, establish, and equip member schools that are committed to a classical approach and the Christian paideia. Founded in 1994, the ACCS now represents over 500 member and accredited schools. ACCS has formed a joint initiative with Concordis Education Partners, Turning Point Education, the Heritage Foundation, and the St. John Henry Newman Institute to grow Classical Christian schools by 1.5 million students over the next decade.
Job Description:
ACCS is seeking a do-er and relational communicator who loves organizing parallel short-, medium-, and long-term projects and will not let a key connection drop. This position is based in our Development Office and will be responsible for donor communications, our Corporate Partners program, the annual Battle for the American School event, and year-round fundraising campaigns. ACCS is currently recruiting qualified candidates in a number of areas including executive leadership, technology development, publications, and video production, so “round” candidates with capabilities in multiple domains will be considered for a combined appointment with higher compensation.
The ideal candidate will have experience in classical Christian education, as well as knowledge of the ACCS brand and mission to equip and support Classical Christian schools nationally and internationally. The applicant must be a confessing Christian in a Bible-believing church. This is a rare opportunity for a highly organized and effective individual who desires a senior role in a growing organization that will significantly advance the mission of Classical Christian education.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors or Masters degree and will have experience in Classical Christian education.
- The ideal candidate has managed complex projects that involved professional communication and managing key deliverables over 12-18 months.
- The ideal candidate has demonstrated proficiency with mail, email, and social media campaigns and knows how to use standard CRM software to manage donor relationships (ACCS currently uses Nutshell).
- Experience fundraising for an independent Classical Christian school, Christian education nonprofit, or Christian university is highly desirable.
- Experience with ACCS’s Repairing the Ruins conference and one or more ACCS member schools is highly desirable.
Roles / Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Development or President in planning events and campaigns, setting meetings with donors, and managing the ACCS donor database.
- Manage the ACCS Corporate Partnerships and Business Affiliates programs.
- Oversee the content of ACCS fundraising and donor-relations web pages including integration with donation management software.
- Run the ACCS Annual Fund end of year direct mail campaign.
- Assist with the Battle for the American School initiative including donor communications, event planning, and logistical support.
- Support ACCS’s grant applications by authoring progress reports and providing documentation of spending according to grantor’s specifications.
