Covenant School is a growing non-denominational Protestant Christian and classical school in Huntington, WV. Our current enrollment is 326 in grades K–12. We are presently accredited by the Association of Classical and Christian Schools (ACCS), and expect to achieve accreditation with the Society for Classical Learning (SCL) in 2026.

Covenant School is seeking a full-time Upper School Classical Languages Teacher to begin in the 2026–2027 school year. The appointee will play a key role in our Upper School program by implementing a classical languages program and by teaching courses in Greek and/or Latin. The appointee may also teach courses in humanities, theology, or biblical studies.

Candidates must have at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; an advanced degree is desirable. Demonstrable expertise in Latin and/or Greek is essential, along with a record of excellence in teaching. Candidates must also be committed to Christ and the Church, and they must embody our Portrait of a Graduate.

Upper School Faculty

Covenant School’s Upper School consists of nine-full time faculty members, who provide instruction in mathematics, science, humanities, biblical and theological studies, Latin, and fine arts. The Upper School faculty offers a diploma in advanced classical studies.

Principles of Classical Christian Education

Covenant is a classical Christian School. As such, all faculty must sign our statement of faith and be committed to the principles of classical Christian education. These principles emphasize an education from a Christian worldview in the seven liberal arts and in the great books.

Location

Covenant School is located in Huntington, West Virginia. The city is on the south bank of the Ohio River, with close access to the Appalachian Mountains. With a population of roughly 50,000 people, Huntington is the second largest city in West Virginia and is also the home of Marshall University and the Huntington Museum of Art.
