Position Description
Summit Classical Academy, an ACCS-accredited, Christ-centered classical school, is seeking an accomplished and faithful Dual-Credit Math Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will challenge advanced students with the elegance of higher mathematics, reflecting God’s infinite wisdom, while preparing them for college success through rigorous, faith-integrated instruction. This high school role will focus on dual-credit courses in College Algebra and Pre-Calculus (in partnership with Colorado Christian University), employing classical pedagogy to promote logical mastery and intellectual humility.
Responsibilities
- Teach dual-credit College Algebra and Pre-Calculus, incorporating proofs, applications, and Socratic exploration.
- Illustrate mathematical order as evidence of divine design, tying concepts to a biblical perspective.
- Develop advanced lessons with problem-solving, graphing, and theoretical discussions aligned with university standards.
- Evaluate through exams, projects, and defenses to verify college-level proficiency.
- Advise students on college transitions and integrate math with sciences or theology.
- Coordinate with university partners and collaborate on SCA’s upper-school programs.
- Engage in ongoing development and community activities.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree required in Mathematics or related STEM fields.
- Experience teaching college-level or dual-credit math, preferably in classical Christian contexts.
- Strong faith in Jesus Christ and harmony with SCA’s Statement of Faith.
- Command of classical methods and trivium stages.
- Willingness to obtain ACCS teacher certification and university adjunct approval.
- Exceptional analytical and teaching abilities.
Preferred Additional Strengths
- Prior adjunct experience with Colorado Christian University or similar.
- Familiarity with curricula for dual-enrollment (e.g., aligned to AB/BC Calculus prep).
- Interest in math competitions or STEM clubs.
