Position Description

This leader will address organizational and cultural challenges, strengthen internal alignment,
and bring clarity to systems and structures. The Interim Head reports directly to the Board of
Directors and is responsible for executing school operations. This includes authority over
personnel, daily decision-making, and operational leadership in alignment with Board policies
and strategic direction. He/she also serves as both a trusted advisor and the primary
representative of the school to its community.
Key Outcomes (Measures of Success)
By the conclusion of the interim term, the Interim Head will have:
• Established operational stability and consistent leadership
• Strengthened trust and communication among faculty, families, and the Board
• Addressed unresolved personnel, structural, or cultural challenges with clarity and care
• Ensured sound financial management and transparent reporting
• Delivered an objective assessment of school operations with recommendations for the
future
• Maintained or improved student performance and enrollment stability
Core Responsibilities
Spiritual & Cultural Leadership
• Faithfully uphold and advance the school’s Christ-centered mission
• Model spiritual maturity, humility, and integrity
• Foster a culture grounded in truth, goodness, and beauty
• Promote unity, trust, and healthy communication across the school community
Operational & Executive Leadership
• Oversee all aspects of daily school operations
• Provide leadership across admissions, enrollment, development, marketing, and finances
• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance and uphold best practices
• Maintain financial stewardship, including budget oversight and Board reporting
Academic Leadership
• Support and strengthen the classical Christian educational model
• Demonstrate familiarity with the Trivium (Grammar, Logic, Rhetoric), Socratic
instruction, and virtue formation
• Partner with faculty to maintain academic excellence and student development
Organizational Leadership & Transition
• Evaluate existing systems, practices, and personnel structures
• Address difficult or unresolved issues with wisdom and decisiveness
• Strengthen teamwork and alignment among staff and leadership
• Prepare the school for long-term success under future leadership
Board & Community Relations
• Serve as the primary liaison between the Board and school operations
• Communicate regularly and transparently with the Board
• Build trust with parents, faculty, and the broader community
Qualifications
• A clear and credible profession of faith in Jesus Christ and alignment with the school’s
mission and statement of faith
• Demonstrated experience as a Head of School, Principal, or senior educational leader
(classroom experience preferred)
• Experience in a Christian or classical Christian school environment strongly preferred
• Understanding of classical education, including the Trivium, and commitment to student
formation in intellect and character
• Master’s degree in Education Administration, a masters with a minimum of 15 semester
hours in school administration and supervision, or currently enrolled in such a program.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and best practices in school administratio
