Position Description
POSITION AVAILABLE: Upper School Math & Science 2026-2027, full- or part-time
Augustine Classical Academy, located in upstate NY, seeks a teacher passionate about sharing a love for learning in the context of discipling students to be like their perfect teacher, Jesus. As a classical Christian school, we believe that all education is discipleship and that our hunger for knowledge stems from a desire to know our Creator and Redeemer more fully. Our teachers integrate a biblical understanding of all disciplines, whetting appetites for learning and establishing habits of virtue that will serve our students well as they grow. A successful Upper School teacher will faithfully shepherd these young adults during this formative period of their lives, encouraging them to grow in independence and maturity, as well as in knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. He or she will also work collaboratively with other faculty, a mature and committed community of educators compassionately training these students.
A qualified candidate will be capable of teaching a variety of math and science courses for 7th-12th grade. Exact courses and course load will depend on the strengths of the teacher, but are likely to include a combination of Life Science (7th), Physical Science (8th, 9th), Chemistry (10th), Physics (11th, 12th), and/or Math 6, Math 7, and Prealgebra. Class sizes range from 5-15 students. Additional requirements include a bachelor’s degree, agreement with the Augustine Classical Academy Statement of Faith and Statement on Human Sexuality, and faithful church attendance.
