About Bethel Classical Academy
Bethel Classical Academy (BCA) is a growing private classical Christian school in Irvine, CA, dedicated to cultivating a Christ-centered academic environment rooted in classical Christian education. As we expand, we seek a TK-8 Assistant Principal who will play a key leadership role in our school.
Founded in 2021, Bethel Classical Academy is committed to providing a rigorous classical Christian education that cultivates a love of truth, goodness, and beauty. We use a classical pedagogy that emphasizes the Trivium (Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric stages) and seek to develop students who think deeply, communicate eloquently, and live virtuously for the glory of God.
Position Overview
The Assistant Principal will support the Head of School in advancing the mission of BCA by fostering a culture of academic excellence, spiritual formation, and classical learning. This individual will work closely with faculty, students, and parents to ensure a nurturing and disciplined learning environment that aligns with the school’s classical Christian philosophy.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Spiritual & Academic Leadership
Model servant leadership and Christian discipleship in all interactions.
Uphold and promote BCA’s mission, vision, and statement of faith.
Support faculty in implementing classical Christian pedagogy and best teaching practices.
Faculty Support & Development
Assist in hiring, mentoring, and evaluating teachers to ensure alignment with school values and academic rigor.
Lead professional development and training for faculty and staff.
Student Discipleship & Discipline
Foster a Christ-centered school culture that encourages spiritual and moral growth.
Oversee student behavior, discipline, and conflict resolution with grace and consistency.
Administrative Leadership & School Growth
Assist in curriculum development, assessment, and academic planning.
Collaborate with the Head of School on strategic planning and school operations.
Support enrollment growth by engaging with prospective families and participating in admissions processes.
Build strong relationships with parents and the broader school community.
Qualifications & Requirements
A strong Christian faith and a commitment to BCA’s classical Christian mission.
A master’s degree in education, administration, or a related field (preferred).
Experience in classical Christian education (preferred).
Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching and/or leadership experience in an educational setting.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor faculty, manage school operations, and lead with wisdom and humility.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
