Rhetoric School Literature & Rhetoric Teacher
Position Description
Cair Paravel Latin School (Topeka, Kansas) is seeking a Rhetoric School literature & rhetoric teacher for the 2023-24 school year.
Basic Requirements:
– Strong Christian testimony and commitment, including modeling and spiritual leadership for students
– Commitment to living in accordance with Biblical standards
– Agreement with the CPLS Statement of Faith (copy available at cpls.org)
– Commitment to the classical Christian vision
– Passion for classical Christian education or a willingness to learn more
– Love of children
– Personal love of learning
– Subject-matter expertise – At a minimum, expertise in literature from the time periods from the Medieval era to the present is required. Additional expertise in teaching rhetoric is preferred.
– Organizational skills and aptitude for managing a classroom
Preferred Qualifications:
– Classroom/teaching experience
– Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in literature or literature education, and preferably from a liberal arts college
– Training and/or experience in classical Christian education
– Versatility and/or expertise in other specialties, i.e., other curricular areas or extra-curricular activities
