Head of School/Administrator
Position Description
Qualifications and preferences in teaching, administration and with knowledge of Classical Education is highly preferred. Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration or Classical Studies. Preferable a Master’s degree or higher in the same fields, or in theology and/or education. Seminary degrees are welcome.
In general duties would include providing staff and faculty with direction regarding academics, curriculum and testing along with student discipline and discipleship. Other Administrative duties would involve overseeing and delegating responsibilities with FACTS, Student Information Systems, Tuition Management, Website and the CCA app.
Specific requirements and duties will involve;
REQUIREMENTS for Head of School/Administrator
· Must be a follower of Christ and member in good standing of a church body.
· Well acquainted with school administration and the particulars in managing an educational environment including classroom instruction, school administration, personnel management, and financial stewardship.
· Shall display faithfulness to the Lord Jesus Christ, be fully devoted to Christ above all else, and demonstrate a love for the people of God.
· Shall have a love for students and sense a calling to a ministry of Christ-centered classical education.
· Shall have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration or Classical Studies: preferable a Master’s degree or higher in the same fields, or in theology and/or education. Seminary degrees are welcome.
· Shall preferably have some level of experience both in the classroom environment or the home school environment (teaching), and in administrating an educational environment with multiple students (administration).
· Shall be, or be willing to become, a cooperating Southern Baptist who becomes a member of Candies Creek Church and is involved in the life and ministry of Candies Creek Church.
DUTIES for Head of School/Administrator
· Will serve under the leadership and vision of the CCBC in general and CCA School Board in particular.
· Shall give spiritual leadership and guidance to the overall ministry of the Academy and be directly accountable to the Academy School Board and secondarily to the Lead Pastor of CCBC, as an adjunct staff member of CCBC.
· Shall be responsible for the hiring and firing of Academy teachers under the final approval of the School Board and in accordance with CCA policy.
· Shall be responsible to work with the School Board to choose, develop and implement school curriculum, develop and administer financial policies including tuition and scholarships, develop and administer disciplinary procedures for students, faculty and staff and establish, monitor and implement admissions procedures and requirements.
· Shall be responsible for the oversight of fundraising through the Parent Council, in full partnership with School Board and the approval of the church.
· Shall utilize the existing faculty Leadership Team for the purpose of improving communication, school discipline, teacher support and planning of events.
· Should be willing to stay in communication regarding school accreditation with the School Board.
· Shall carry out any other reasonable duties not herein assigned, but requested by the School Board and considered necessary for the successful operation of the Academy.
