Capstone Director of Advancement Job Description

Pray for Capstone Classical Academy’s Headmaster, board, leadership team, faculty, staff, and families.

• Represent Capstone Classical Academy’s mission, and most importantly, Jesus Christ, by submitting to the

Holy Spirit in interactions with donors, colleagues, and families to the glory of God.

• Oversee and direct the work of the advancement office assistant.

• Keep written records of all contacts and meetings within the CRM.

• Manage the advancement budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial

goals and guidelines.

• Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to support academy goals.

• Golden Gryphon Fund and Golden Gryphon Society

• Work with the Headmaster to set Golden Gryphon Fund (GGF) goals.

• Develop and implement a coordinated strategy for the GGF.

• Recruit, train, and encourage GGF volunteers.

• Maximize employer-matching gift programs.

• Coordinate Giving Hearts Day.

• Maximize ND Tax Credit Program.

• Work with the Headmaster to plan and implement capital campaigns.

• Direct and oversee all advancement events.

• Work with the Headmaster to create and implement a planned giving program.

• Personally conduct calls and visits for leadership-level gifts

• Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, prospects, and alumni to enhance engagement and

secure philanthropic support.

• Identify grant opportunities, write compelling grant proposals, and manage grant reporting requirements

to secure and maintain external funding sources.

• Chair the advancement team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.

• Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to evaluate fundraising effectiveness, identify trends, and

make data-driven decisions to optimize fundraising strategies.

• Work closely with marketing and communications team to develop messaging, campaigns, and materials

that effectively communicate the academy’s mission and impact to donors and the public.

• Work with the Headmaster to identify and cultivate relationships with key families in the community.

• Lead the cultivation of a culture of giving with newly enrolled families each year.

• Attend important school events to maintain rapport with constituents.

• Provide helpful observations and critique to the Headmaster for the purpose of helping him to improve

relationships with donors and other key advancement stakeholders.
