General Job Description

• Help train and inspire the minds and hearts of their students to be self-motivated learners who pursue Truth, Beauty, and Goodness
  Possess a love and passion for God, for the students, and for their subject(s)
• Understand that the goal of education is wisdom and virtue, and thus students study not merely individual academic disciplines, but essential truths that transcend the disciplines
• Prepare engaging weekly lesson plans centered around classical education principles
• Keep accurate and detailed records of each student’s progress
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, develops a culture of excellence, and employs a variety of instructional strategies to foster students’ sense of wonder, growth, and love of learning
• Work cooperatively with CHCA to create a dynamic and positive school culture through participation in school events and faculty development
• Communicate with parents regularly regarding all aspects of their child’s performance and be available for occasional communication outside of regular teaching hours
• Work with parents to encourage participation in their child’s learning experiences
• Adhere and agree to the CHCA Code of Conduct and Statement of Faith, and exhort both faculty and students to uphold these standards
• Multiple positions available for 1st-4th grades.

Ideal Candidates (1st-4th grade positions)

• This candidate will be comfortable working with students to create a vibrant classroom rooted in living books, experiential learning, and engaging discussion
• This candidate will teach Humanities (Bible, History, Geography, Artist & Composer Studies), Language Arts (Handwriting, Spelling/Dictation, Grammar, Poetics, Literature, Composition), and Arithmetic
• Will teach one full day class on Mondays
