JOB POSTING: FORM 1 TEACHER (1st – 3rd Grade)

Christ the King Academy is a K-12 Classical Christian school that is going into its third year of operation and is seeking teachers who:

• Trust in Christ as their only hope in life and in death;
• Agree with the CKA doctrinal statement and statement on gender and sexuality;
• Belong to and actively serve in a local church;
• Have at least three years of teaching experience;
• Are willing and able to take on a broad range of teaching responsibilities;
• Have classroom teaching experience;
• Desire to establish a school that will bless the community for generations to come.

Teaching Content

Christ the King Academy is seeking a Form 1 (1st-3rd grade) teacher who will teach all core-academic classes, including:

• Bible: In-house curriculum
• History & Literature: Veritas History
• Phonics: Saxon Phonics or Spell to Read and Write
• Grammar: Shurley Grammar
• Spelling: Grammar of Spelling
• Math: MathMammoth
• Science: NOEO Science
• Poetry: IEW poetry program

Job Description

Teachers at Christ the King Academy are expected to:

• Attend Logos Teacher Training on June 25th & 26th (costs covered by CKA).
• Participate in pre-service training days (Sept. 2nd–13th).
• Engage in ongoing professional development during Friday teacher training.
• Complete annual, quarterly, and weekly lesson plans.
• Teach in a way that fosters joy and discipline, rigor and delight.
• Assess and evaluate student work.
• Post grades weekly in ClassReach.
• Communicate regularly with parents.
• Conduct parent-teacher conferences in the fall and spring.
• Enforce the school rules, policies, and dress code.
• Follow school policies regarding conduct and discipline in the class.
• Maintain awareness of school updates, events, and policies.
• Attend, participate in, and contribute to school events (as able).
• Complete other job-related tasks designated by the headmaster.
