Volleyball Varsity Head Coach

Position Description

Position Summary: Acts as Head Volleyball Coach for Varsity volleyball team.  Provides activity supervision, training and coaching to student athletes as assigned. Actively works to ensure the fulfillment of team, department and school goals within their sport.

Position Objective: Primary goal is to teach and promote the glorification of God through the pursuit of excellence in athletics. Additionally, charged to use leadership, supervisory and teaching skills to promote the development of the individual program and all student-athletes.

Essential Job Functions:

Volleyball Head Coach:

Assists in implementing athletic objectives
Assumes responsibility for constant care of equipment and facilities
Assumes supervisory control over athletes and teams assigned
Be in regular attendance at all contests and practice sessions
Instills discipline, work ethic,respectand perseverance in athletes
Applies discipline in a firm but positive manner
Emphasizes safety; is aware of best training procedures and injury preventative actions
Conducts self and teams in an ethical manner during contests and practice
Instructs players in rules of the game, rule changes, new developments, and innovative ideas

Qualifications:
Be dedicated to the historic Christian faith and the classical Christian approach
Resonate with Coram Deo Academy’s mission, vision, core, values and goals
Exhibit the giftings and desire necessary to coach in their designated sport
Have prior playing/coaching experience in the assigned sport (Varsity or club level Coach preferred)

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Works in a highly challenging environment dealing with a wide variety of deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
Works in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and/ or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials weighing 20 to 50 pounds.
