9th & 10th Grade History Teacher

Position Description

Covenant Christian Academy in Colleyville, TX is accepting applications for a 9th and 10th Grade Honors History Teacher. Our mission is to provide a biblically based, classical, college preparatory education that inspires a passion for excellence, a heart of grace, and the character of Christ.

 

9th & 10th Grade Honors HISTORY –

9th Grade History – Ancient history, Middle Ages, Renaissance, Reformation, and Early Modern era
10th Grade History – 18th Century to present day
Utilize engaging teaching methods and socratic dialogue, with a focus on critical thinking and persuasively presenting arguments in both oral and written form.
Competitive, negotiable compensation based on education and experience

Applicants for this position should:

Be able to articulate a Christian worldview based on an active life of faith in Jesus Christ and faithful attendance in an evangelical church.
Have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in History
Have 3+ years of teaching experience (preferred but early career teachers with a strong academic record will be considered)
Be able to describe the general distinctives of classical Christian school

Covenant Christian Academy in Colleyville, Texas is located in the heart of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex on a beautiful 16+ acre campus and has been awarded “Best Private School” in NE Tarrant County more than 12 times. The school is a well-established classical, Christian, college-preparatory school with approximately 620 students in PreK-12th grades.
