Lower School Music Teacher

Position Description

Covenant Christian Academy in Colleyville, TX is accepting applications for an Elementary Music Teacher. Our mission is to provide a biblically based, classical, college preparatory education that inspires a passion for excellence, a heart of grace, and the character of Christ.

 

Elementary Music –

Grades 1-4 music instruction of basic elements such as pitch, rhythm, tone, color, dynamics, form, and texture.
These elements are taught through singing, movement, listening activities, playing instruments, and musical games.
Direct 1 program per grade level
Lead 1 music field trip per grade level

Applicants for this position should:

Be able to articulate a Christian worldview based on an active life of faith in Jesus Christ and faithful attendance in an evangelical church.
Hold a Bachelor’s of Music Education degree
Have 3+ years of teaching experience (preferred but early career teachers with a strong academic record will be considered)
Display a nurturing spirit with a dynamic and engaging teaching style
Have excellent classroom management and thorough knowledge of best practices including Kodaly, Orff, etc. (Choral experience is a plus.)

Covenant Christian Academy in Colleyville, Texas is located in the heart of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex on a beautiful 16+ acre campus and has been awarded “Best Private School” in NE Tarrant County more than 12 times. The school is a well-established classical, Christian, college-preparatory school with approximately 620 students in PreK-12th grades.
