Latin Teacher – Upper School

Position Description

Fortis Academy is accepting applications for a qualified part-time Upper School Latin teacher. Opportunities to teach additional humanities courses are available. This position is ideal for experienced or retired humanities teachers who desire to work part-time on Mondays /  Wednesdays / Fridays in a Christ-centered, classical school.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Latin language and translation courses for Upper School students.
• Maintain course syllabi, learning objectives, and grade records in accordance with Fortis Academy’s curriculum and guidelines.
• Work to foster a school community guided by a love of Christ and one another.
• Lead by example, model lifelong learning, and represent the school’s mission.
• Participate in Fortis Academy’s staff development days and teacher training.
• Participate in the life of the school and special events in fellowship with co-workers and families throughout the year.

Additional Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Required

• Dedication to the Christian faith.
• Passion for Christian education and fostering student growth.
• Strong oral and written communication and basic computer skills.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Must clear a full background check.

Educational and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1-3+ years experience working in a related field is preferred.
• Experience in a Christian, Classical, and collaborative educational model is preferred but not required.
