Job Title: Part-Time Headmaster

Position Summary:
King Alfred Academy is seeking a wise, servant-hearted Headmaster to help shepherd our small but growing Classical Christian startup school. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to shape the culture and rhythm of a school committed to truth, beauty, and goodness. The ideal candidate will model joyful leadership, provide support to teachers and families, and offer spiritual and administrative guidance as we continue to build a God-honoring academic environment.
This is a low-pay or volunteer role for the first year, with potential for growth as the school develops.

Responsibilities:
Lead daily morning meetings with staff and students, setting a tone of worship and order
Offer regular encouragement, oversight, and support to teachers through classroom observations and collaboration
Assist with student discipleship, including behavior support and formation of virtuous habits
Partner with the board and founding team in decision-making, mission alignment, and long-term vision
Serve as a liaison between staff, parents, and leadership, nurturing healthy communication and unity
Help maintain a peaceful, structured environment aligned with Classical Christian principles
Qualifications:
A deep and mature walk with Christ, marked by humility and servant leadership
A passion for Classical Christian education and a desire to disciple both students and teachers
Strong interpersonal skills and a pastoral heart for mentoring
Experience in education, leadership, or ministry preferred
Willingness to grow with a start-up school and invest in long-term flourishing
