Middle School English Teacher (Full-Time)

Liberty Classical Academy is a Christ-centered, classical Preschool–12th grade private school with campuses in White Bear Lake and Hugo, Minnesota. We are seeking a knowledgeable, articulate, and mission-driven Middle School English Teacher to join our faculty.

This full-time position will teach middle school students (grades 6–8; specific grade level assignments determined based on experience and school needs). The ideal candidate delights in language, literature, and the formation of thoughtful young Christians. This role emphasizes formal grammar instruction, composition, and engagement with classical literature, all taught through a distinctly Christian worldview.

Key Responsibilities

Teach middle school English courses that include formal grammar, composition, and classical literature
Provide systematic instruction in grammar and writing, building clarity, precision, and eloquence in student expression
Lead thoughtful classroom discussions that cultivate critical thinking and moral imagination
Integrate a Christian worldview into all instruction
Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with classical pedagogy
Provide timely feedback on student writing and support growth in revision and rhetoric foundations
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress
Maintain a structured, orderly, and joyful classroom environment
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
Participate in the broader life of the school through homeroom leadership, student supervision, or other faculty collaboration
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in English or related field required
Experience in classical education preferred
Strong understanding of formal grammar instruction and composition pedagogy
Love for classical literature and literary tradition
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to cultivate both academic excellence and Christian character
Agreement with Liberty Classical Academy’s Statement of Faith and commitment to a Christ-centered educational mission
Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $42,000–$55,000 annually, based on education and experience
Job Type: Full-time
