Position Overview

Morning Star Academy seeks a 6th Grade Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This position is ideal for a teacher who loves students, delights in learning, and desires to teach within a classical Christian framework. The 6th Grade Teacher will provide instruction across core subjects, shepherd students during a pivotal transitional year, and contribute to the life of a vibrant Christian school community.

 

Primary Responsibilities

· Teach 6th grade core subjects (e.g., English, literature, grammar, history, mathematics, and/or science, depending on assignment) using classical methodologies

· Foster a classroom culture marked by order, joy, and charity

· Integrate biblical truth and Christian worldview into daily instruction

· Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons

· Assess student learning and communicate progress clearly with parents

· Maintain consistent classroom routines and high expectations for student conduct

· Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support school mission and goals

· Participate in school events, professional development, and faculty meetings

 

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree required

· Teaching experience or mentored classroom experience as part of a degree program is preferred but not required.

· Strong communication and organizational skills

· A teachable spirit and willingness to grow in classical pedagogy

· Ability to joyfully lead and shepherd middle-grade students
