General Responsibilities:  The Principal will…

Relate to students by loving them with the love of Christ, encouraging them to begin and/or develop a relationship with God through Christ, and challenging them to love God with all their hearts, minds, souls and strengths.
Be a role model of Christian love, faith, truthfulness, and virtue, both in the school and in personal life. Strive to always represent NCS and the Grammar School in a favorable and professional manner.
Recognize parents as bearing primary responsibility before God for their children’s education and assist them in that task.
Know and strive to implement the mission of New Covenant School.
Demonstrate qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, patience, self-control (including emotional stability), and perseverance.
Be punctual, hardworking and use time wisely.
Maintain a personal appearance appropriate for a professional Christian institution, exhibiting cleanliness and modesty.

Professional Responsibilities:  The Principal will…

Report to the Head of School.
Effectively and regularly communicate to the Head of School and/or the Administrative Assistant student progress or struggles, along with classroom activities.
Maintain a clean, organized, inviting and attractive Grammar School facility.
Participate in scheduled faculty meetings (including staff prayer, in-services, retreats, and committees) and parent/teacher meetings.
Lead Grammar School staff meetings.
Complete at least one professional development project each school year.

Grammar School Responsibilities:  The Principal will…

Help to plan and coordinate activities and field trips for the Grammar School which includes back to school orientation, holiday programs, K5 graduation, etc.
Develop, implement, and oversee the daily schedule for the Grammar School including related arts, lunch, recess, and any other activities.
Be willing to add or help to add programs or activities that will increase the value of NCS and preschool.
Help recruit families and students to the Grammar School with the objective of families remaining and continuing to New Covenant Upper School.
Evaluate Grammar School staff (teaching and non-teaching) giving constructive criticism.  Communicate staff progress to the Head of School.
Examine current curriculum and help evaluate possible new curriculum.
Provide development opportunities for the Grammar School staff.
Assist in raising funds for New Covenant School.
Have input and help to develop the annual Grammar School budget which includes being responsible for expenses directly related to materials and equipment.
Work closely with New Covenant Church on how to best share the Grammar School classrooms with the Sunday school rooms.
