Position Description

Senior Humanities Capstone Position

New Saint Andrews College is a confessionally Reformed, Christian liberal arts college in Moscow, Idaho. We seek a new faculty appointment in the Humanities. This appointee will be responsible for a year-long senior capstone colloquium and other courses within the appointee’s field of expertise that aligns with the college’s degree program in Liberal Arts and Culture. The capstone course should cover the Pythagorean-Platonic liberal arts tradition of the West, synthesizing the main themes of NSA’s curriculum, including philosophy, music, aesthetics, ethics, mathematics, science, language, and theology. Terminal degree preferred; salary and rank will depend on experience.

The post begins June 2024. We require our faculty to sign the college’s Statement of Faith. Applicants shall submit (a) a letter of interest, expressing their suitability and vision for teaching in a confessionally Reformed, liberal arts context; (b) a CV; and (c) contact information for three references. We encourage applicants to read this paper (What is a Liberal Art?) to understand the college’s position on the liberal arts and their implications for our pedagogy.
