Band Director

Position Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Band Director to lead and develop our instrumental music program, teaching four sections of band weekly to students in grades 4 through 12. The ideal candidate will possess a deep love for music, a heart for discipleship, and a clear understanding of classical Christian education.

Responsibilities
Teach and direct four band classes (grouped by age or ability), spanning elementary through high school levels (4th–12th grade).
Select appropriate repertoire that is musically enriching and aligns with the school’s values.
Plan and conduct rehearsals, performances, and school concerts throughout the academic year.
Encourage musical excellence while fostering joy, discipline, and teamwork in students.
Collaborate with school leadership and faculty to integrate music education within the broader classical curriculum.
Provide mentorship and spiritual guidance in line with the school’s mission and Christian worldview.
Manage band logistics, including instrument inventory, sheet music, and concert planning.

Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in music education or a related field (master’s preferred).
Demonstrated proficiency in instrumental instruction and conducting.
Classroom teaching experience, preferably in a school setting.
A mature Christian faith and commitment to the principles of Classical Christian education.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
A desire to cultivate beauty, order, and virtue through music.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in classical Christian education.
Familiarity with traditional and sacred musical repertoire.
Ability to teach music theory and fundamentals at an age-appropriate level.
