Adjunct Professor – Dual Credit

Position Description

Second Baptist School University-Model® (SBSUM) is actively seeking part-time faculty to teach in the dual credit program we offer in partnership with Houston Christian University (HCU). This position will serve both as a dual credit instructor and an adjunct professor.

Position Title: Part-Time Faculty for SBSUM (and Adjunct Professor for HCU which requires an additional approval process through HCU)
Reports To: Dean of Campus
Calendar:  August – May

JOB SUMMARY.

A Second Baptist School University-Model® faculty member must be able to plan, organize and implement an appropriate classroom instructional program that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

Our dual credit faculty deliver college-level instruction to high school students, fostering academic excellence which emphasizes critical thinking, eloquent communication, and a love of learning. This part-time role includes developing course materials, teaching in alignment with both high school and college standards, assessing student progress, and collaborating with school staff to support student success.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED.

A master’s degree from an accredited institution.
Previous dual credit instruction experience preferred.

A desire to lead and support all school-wide initiatives.
Strong knowledge in specific content.

Proficiency in technology and strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
A responsible steward of the school’s resources and a personal commitment to support the school’s fundraising efforts as able.

University-Model, classical school, and/or college-level teaching experience, and prior knowledge of Second Baptist Church and School are considered a plus.
