Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Grammar School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing an excellent, classical Christian education to students in grades K-5, fostering both intellectual growth and spiritual formation. The teacher will work to instill a love of learning and guide students in developing foundational skills in language arts, mathematics, science, and history, all from a Christ-centered perspective.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Instruction- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in all core subjects (language arts, mathematics, science, history) and elective/non-core subjects (music, art, Latin/Greek, physical education) that align with the school’s classical Christian curriculum.
– Utilize a variety of instructional methods, including direct instruction, Socratic discussion, and hands-on learning experiences.
– Incorporate biblical truths into lessons, helping students understand and apply Christian values to their academic pursuits.
– Differentiate instruction to meet the individual learning needs of students.

2. Student Development- Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning.
– Provide character development through modeling Christ-like behavior and encouraging students to grow in their faith and virtue.
– Assess student progress regularly through formal and informal evaluations and provide constructive feedback to both students and parents.

3. Classroom Management- Maintain a well-organized, disciplined, and respectful classroom environment that promotes active learning and engagement.
– Set clear expectations for student behavior, and address any issues with patience and grace, in line with the school’s code of conduct.

4. Collaboration- Work closely with other teachers, administrators, and staff to implement the school’s educational mission and foster a supportive learning community.
– Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required.

5. Parent Communication- Maintain open and regular communication with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and any academic concerns.
-Be available for parent-teacher conferences and other school-related meetings.

Qualifications:
– High school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
– Strong commitment to the philosophy and values of classical Christian education.
– A personal commitment to the Christian faith and active participation in a Christian community.
– Experience teaching elementary-aged students, preferably in a classical Christian or private school setting.
– Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.
– Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a nurturing, disciplined learning environment.
– A love for children and a passion for teaching and discipling young students.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
– Knowledge of classical education pedagogy, including the trivium (grammar, logic, rhetoric).
– Familiarity with classical Christian curriculum and resources.
– Ability to integrate technology in the classroom in a balanced, meaningful way.
