Purpose
The School Administrator plays a critical role in the successful launch and ongoing operations of St. George Classical Christian Academy. This position will serve as the primary boots-on-the-ground leader, translating the vision of the startup committee into tangible results by managing day-to-day administrative, operational, and logistical tasks required to establish the school.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. School Launch & Operational Setup
Oversee all administrative tasks necessary for the school’s opening in Fall 2026.
Work closely with the startup committee to implement strategic plans and ensure all foundational elements are in place (facilities, staffing, curriculum, etc.).
Assist in securing a school facility, coordinating any necessary renovations or modifications.
Ensure compliance with state charter requirements and assist in the charter approval process.
Establish operational systems, policies, and procedures for student enrollment, attendance, record-keeping, and scheduling.
2. Compliance, Legal, and Accreditation
Work with legal advisors to ensure compliance with Ohio state education regulations and charter school requirements.
Oversee documentation and reporting requirements for state accreditation and charter funding.
Ensure school policies align with the values and mission of Classical Christian education.
3. Student Enrollment & Family Engagement
Develop and implement a student recruitment plan, including managing inquiries, applications, and school tours.
Foster strong relationships with prospective families, churches, and the local community to build a robust student body.
Develop parent orientation materials and engagement strategies.
4. Staffing & Faculty Support
Assist in the hiring process for teachers, support staff, and administrators.
Provide onboarding and support for new faculty members, ensuring alignment with classical Christian education philosophy.
Manage teacher certifications and ensure compliance with Ohio educational requirements.
5. Curriculum Implementation & Educational Support
Work with the Education & Content Development Lead (Aaron Francis) to ensure classical Christian curriculum is properly implemented.
Support teachers with classroom setup, instructional resources, and technology needs.
6. Financial & Fundraising Support
Assist the Business Development Lead (Mark Fortmyer) in managing budgets, tracking expenses, and overseeing financial operations.
Support fundraising initiatives by organizing events, donor meetings, and grant applications.
7. Marketing & Public Relations
Work with the Technology & Infrastructure Lead (Chase Talbot) to manage the school’s website, social media, and external communications.
Coordinate community outreach efforts to promote the school and establish partnerships with local churches and organizations.
8. Facilities & Logistics
Oversee school safety procedures, emergency plans, and facility maintenance.
Develop transportation and food service plans if applicable.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education, administration, business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience in school administration, operations, or startup environments.
Strong understanding of classical Christian education and its principles.
Knowledge of Ohio state education laws and charter school requirements (or willingness to learn).
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing needs.
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills to engage with parents, faculty, donors, and community leaders.
High level of integrity and commitment to the school’s Christian mission.
Preferred Experience
Prior experience in a school startup or a leadership role in a classical Christian school.
Familiarity with accreditation processes and government funding procedures for charter schools.
Background in fundraising, marketing, or community relations.
