Position Description
The Geneva School is a mission-driven school established in 1993. Our mission is to provide
students in grades K4–12 an extraordinary education, by means of an integrated curriculum,
pedagogy and culture, both distinctly classical and distinctively Christian, that pursues goodness,
truth, and beauty in all spheres of life, while viewing these spheres as elements of divinely

As a mission-driven school, all staff members play a central role in fulfilling our mission. Hired
by and subject to the supervision of the Headmaster, the Executive Assistant to the Headmaster
is an exempt position. The Executive Assistant to the Headmaster, in a formational and relational
role, models Christ-like behavior within The Geneva School community as he or she studies, re-
imagines, and works within the Christian, liberal arts tradition.
I. Essential Duties
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Assistance to the Headmaster
- Communicating on the Headmaster’s behalf both internally and externally
- Project management duties, and assisting in special projects for the Headmaster
- Meeting management including preparing agendas, printing financial reports and tracking
budget alignment, taking notes, distributing action items and arranging catering - Varying personal and professional administrative tasks including, but not limited to,
booking appointments, research projects, coordinating travel, managing expense account,
and ordering gifts/ flowers, etc. - Receive telephone calls for the Headmaster, handle questions, take messages, transfer
calls to voicemail, or notify the Headmaster of important calls - Complex calendar management and scheduling (both personally and professionally) on
behalf of the Headmaster and Directors - Coordinate and calendar senior students assigned to Headmaster as mentor for senior
speech, college essay, and thesis - Coordinate Chapel/Assembly schedule
- Assist with Graduation
- Assist in the coordination and planning of Board projects/retreats and Board sponsored
events - Serve as recording secretary to the Board
- Distribute minutes from Board meetings: Maintain Board notebook
- Distribute Board Reports written by the administrative staff to each Board member
- Assist Headmaster and Directors with FCIS conferences, annual reports, five-year re-
accreditation documents/events - Assist other administrative assistants when time permits and the project warrants
- Attend weekly Calendar Meetings
- Be available and flexible

- Lift 20 lbs. occasionally and 10 lbs. frequently
- Sit frequently and stand and walk on varied surfaces

- Use hands/arms to reach in any direction and seize, grasp, hold, and turn objects using
hand(s). Use fingers, versus the whole hand, to pick, pinch, and feel objects. - See, talk, and hear to communicate with others in person, electronically, by phone, or by
radio. Visual functions include the ability to identify and distinguish colors and bring an
object into sharp focus.
