TEACHER & CURRICULUM LEADER
Grades 6–12 | Logic & Rhetoric School
Teaching Position with Part-Time Curriculum Leadership

Our School Is Growing
Valor Preparatory Academy is experiencing significant growth and is expanding its Upper
School faculty in anticipation of the 2026–2027 school year. In January, Valor’s Logic School
(Years 6–8) and Rhetoric School (Years 9–12) will transition to a new 30,000-square-foot
campus, marking a major milestone in the life of the school.
To support this growth, we are seeking excellent, Christ-centered educators who are committed
to classical Christian education, intellectual rigor, and meaningful partnership with families.
Valor Preparatory Academy is an independent, classical, Christian day school in Waco, Texas,
serving students from Preschool through Year 12. Valor is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and
is unaffiliated with any church or denomination. Our mission is to provide an excellent education
in partnership with families, guided by a biblical worldview, the classical tradition, and the
University-Model® of schooling.
Position Overview
Valor Preparatory Academy seeks an Upper School Mathematics Teacher & Curriculum Leader
who will serve primarily as a classroom teacher while also providing part-time curriculum
leadership across the Grades 6–12 mathematics program.
This role is designed for a strong math educator who desires to teach daily while contributing to
program coherence, faculty support, and long-term curricular excellence. Leadership
responsibilities flow directly from classroom practice and collaboration.
Teaching Responsibilities (Primary)
• Teach a regular load of Upper School mathematics courses based on expertise and school
needs
• Courses may include Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, Statistics, and Calculus
(Honors/Advanced)
• Model excellence in mathematical reasoning, assessment, and classroom culture
• Integrate faith and learning within a classical Christian framework
Curriculum Leadership Responsibilities (Secondary)
• Provide vertical alignment for the Grades 6–12 mathematics sequence
• Support pacing guides, assessments, and instructional coherence
• Collaborate with math faculty on instructional practices and content development
• Assist with placement decisions, advancement pathways, and academic planning
• Support development of honors, advanced, AP, and dual credit math offerings
• Partner with administration on long-term program planning
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a closely related field
• Clear Christian profession of faith and agreement with Valor’s Statement of Faith
• Demonstrated success teaching upper-level mathematics
Preferred
• Master’s degree or higher
• Experience teaching honors, advanced, AP, or dual credit mathematics
• Experience with curriculum development or instructional leadership
• Familiarity with classical Christian education and University-Model® schooling
Compensation & Benefits
• Salary Range: $42,000-$60,000
• Leadership Stipend: An applicable annual stipend is provided for curriculum leadership and
education specialist responsibilities, commensurate with experience and scope of duties
• Additional stipends available for upper-division, honors, advanced, AP, or dual credit
coursework
