Upper School Principal

Position Description

Veritas Classical School, located in St. Augustine, Florida, is prayerfully seeking an Upper School Principal to lead and oversee 7-12 academic and cultural programing and support the Head of School in the effective daily operations of the Veritas Logic and Rhetoric Schools.  The Upper School Principal leads and shoulders the primary responsibility of ensuring and maintaining Veritas’ high academic expectations and atmosphere of Christian grace in the upper school. This person supports the Head of School in communicating, maintaining, and executing the school’s mission for faculty, students, and families. A strong understanding of school leadership, best academic practices in classical education, a desire to learn and support Veritas school culture, and a commitment to the school’s flourishing is required as this leader sets the professional, academic and spiritual tone for the Veritas Upper School. In addition to a desire to do excellent work for God’s glory, this person should have the ability to work both autonomously and on a leadership team with high relational connectedness and courage.

We are looking for an Educational Leader with the following qualifications:

Christian maturity that is both consistent and growing
An understanding of and commitment to the Veritas model of classical and Christian education
Experience leading or teaching in a school setting, classical school setting preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written)
Possess at least a bachelor’s degree, advanced degrees preferred
An approachable and humble manner with the ability to work on a team
Self-starter with a joyful, helpful, and professional attitude and ability to work autonomously and manage work
Desire and ability to learn quickly
Joyfully affirms the Veritas Classical School Statement of Faith
