Westminster Academy, in Memphis, TN, a classical Christian school of 465 students, seeks a qualified full-time Upper School Latin teacher, beginning fall of 2025, to teach select grades 7th through 10th. Westminster Academy is committed to teaching all truth as God’s truth through the lens of Scripture and a Christian worldview. The Upper School Latin teacher will be expected to help with organizing student participation in periodic Latin festivals and conferences. 1. Possess a love of students and a passion for mentoring and discipleship.
2. Hold at least a bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferably in Classics, but mastery of Latin and a wide-ranging knowledge of Latin classics are essential.
3. Display a great passion for classical languages and ancient history and should be able to cultivate a love for those studies within students.
4. Implement the hallmarks of a classical education—Socratic teaching, the integration of subjects, and the integration of Christian faith to show how these disciplines reveal the nature and character of God.
5. Be eager to teach classically, build a biblical worldview for students, and collaborate with other faculty members to foster integration with history, literature, and theology classes.
