Position Description
WCA is seeking a dedicated candidate to serve as a Speech Language Pathologist. The job of Speech/ Language Pathologist was established for the purpose/s of identifying students with communication disabilities; planning and implementing appropriate treatment to minimize adverse impact on student success; recommending treatment plans; and providing information to the Director of Special Education. Candidates should have a working knowledge of classical education with a desire to expand on their understanding.
Work Hours: Part Time, Tuesday and Thursday (8:30 – 3:30)
Start Date: 2024-25 School Year
Reports to: Semper Crescente Director
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES (BUT NOT LIMITED TO)
- Administers standardized and/or supplemental assessments (e.g. screenings, etc) for the purpose of identifying students with communication disorders.
- Provide recommendations for students’ IEP’s and SPP’s
- Assesses students’ communication skills (e.g. articulation, fluency, voice, expressive and receptive language, etc.) for the purpose of identifying communication disorders, determining program eligibility and developing recommendations for treatment.
- Consults with teachers, parents, other personnel and/or outside professionals for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services, making recommendations and/or coordinating speech/language therapy services with those of other disciplines.
- Interprets medical reports within the scope of Speech/Language Pathologist’s experience and goals for the purpose of providing information and/or ensuring that treatment/intervention plans are appropriate.
- Maintains confidentiality for the purpose of protection of students, staff, parents, and school district.
- Maintains files and/or records (e.g. progress reports, activity logs, treatment plans, required documentation, quarterly reports, screening results, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of information as required for reference and/or compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A follower of Jesus Christ and personal agreement with our Statement of Faith and lifestyle
agreement - Detail oriented and organized
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Friendly, gentle, patient, and professional demeanor; teachable spirit
- A Master’s Degree in job related area, ODE SLP Licensure a must
