About Our School Program

At the Brown County Christian Academy, we reject the fashionable notion of self-esteem as the objective of education. Genuine self-esteem arises only through self-respect—the result of hard work, academic accomplishment, right behavior and proper regard for others. We have cultivated a learning environment that encourages full development in all these areas even as we remain dedicated to teaching young children as effectively as caring adults can. Our curriculum is rooted in the trivium, which is the basic building block for classical education. It consists of three subjects; Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric, and in order to implement this classical structure BCCA teachers understand that students are being prepared for their future educational pursuits. Additionally, all BCCA courses are taught through the lens of scripture in order to nurture a biblical worldview for our children.

About Our Community & Mission

The vision of the Brown County Christian Academy is to build students and families into kingdom-minded Christians who are willing to sacrifice everything for Jesus Christ and accept the cost of following Him. We accomplish this through: * A first-class Classical Christian curriculum * Highly qualified Christian educators that love the Lord * A Spiritually-focused, educationally-rich environment

What We Are Known For In The Community

BCCA has become know for three major events in which our community anticipates each year. First is our Annual Fall Spaghetti Dinner & Silent Auction held each year just before our county fair. The second is our Village Christmas caroling event in which the children and teachers participate. The community looks forward to the children stopping by and singing to them, especially their Latin carols! The final event is our Spring Review. This production give our parents, grandparents and other BCCA supporters a glimpse into what our children are learning.

About The Area We Serve

The BCCA serves the Ohio Valley region which is nestled along the banks of the Ohio River in Brown County, Ohio which is rich with history and activities. Take a stroll through downtown Ripley and enjoy the sights of the Ohio River, or visit key points of historical interest, including stops along the Underground Railroad and the Ulysses S. Grant Boyhood home. Do some shopping along Georgetown's Merchants Row, and then enjoy dinner at one of our local wineries. Additionally, you may visit one of our many covered bridges or quilt barns. Families in our area love to go camping and hiking, as the hills of southern Ohio afford everyone a chance to discover God's creation. Cincinnati is also just a short drive, and many people visit there for the Art Museum, the Freedom Center, Newport Aquarium and The Ark Encounter built by Ken Ham and Answers in Genesis.
