About Our School Program

From mummifying chickens in second grade to a Barbarian (student) invasion in fifth grade, to participation in Harkness-style roundtable conversations about Plato, Homer, Augustine, Herodotus, and the founding documents of the United States in the middle and upper school years, Dominion is a place that makes learning rich, engaging, and memorable. Dominion is pleased to offer a comprehensive college preparatory program. The school is characterized by an atmosphere of intellectual curiosity and engagement, academic rigor, the shaping of students' affections towards the things of Christ, warmth and intimacy, and discipline and strength of culture.

About Our Community & Mission

Dominion offers a warm and intimate learning environment where students are presented with the space to savor the true, good, and beautiful things in life. We strive to point students to Christ by pointing them towards a fuller understanding of His creation.

What We Are Known For In The Community

Dominion stands out as a school that offers a Christian community that is serious about the intellectual pursuit and engagement of culture. From weekly upper school seminars with United States dignitaries, senators, and culture leaders to costumed celebrations and feasts in the lower school, Dominion provides a purposeful and engaging learning environment.

About The Area We Serve

Dominion is located in the Washington, D.C. suburbs of Northern Virginia. Our lower school is located in Oakton, which is approximately twenty miles west of the District and four miles south of our upper school campus in Reston. Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. offer an enriching lifestyle with a host of exciting opportunities. From military band concerts on the steps of the Nation’s Capitol or at the foot of the Washington Monument, to exploration of Smithsonian museums and special events, to an outstanding center for the performing arts in Vienna, VA, individuals or families seeking cultural engagement will thrive here. Northern Virginia also enjoys a highly intellectual Christian community with many outstanding churches. In recent years, Dominion has attracted speakers ranging from Eric Metaxas to Max McLean to Stephen Meyer to student seminars hosted by a retired United States Ambassador, a Christian bioethicist, and former executives of government agencies, and representatives of several D.C. policy think tanks. Students routinely benefit from the resources that come with living in the Washington, D.C. region. These student opportunities reflect the cultural milieu that accompanies a life in Northern Virginia.
